Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch is an additional program we offer  from 12:00-1:15 pm for $8.00 per day.  Kids bring a packed lunch and are able to eat lunch with other classmates and enjoy some extra play time.  We also partner with some outside activities who come from 12:30-1:15 pm for extra fun things such as soccer lessons, ballet class, and music class once a week.  These extras are an additional fee that is paid directly to the instructor.  Just because a child attends Lunch Bunch does not mean they have to participate in the extra lessons.

Enrichment

Enrichment is from 1:15-2:45pm for $13.00 per day.  During enrichment the kids do fun activities to support learning.  It could be science experiments, art, music, etc.  To do Enrichment kids have to also do Lunch Bunch.

Lunch Bunch and Enrichment are on a set weekly schedule and fees are collected monthly along with monthly class tuition.  Parents are welcome to utilize this to what fits their weekly schedule by signing up for the number of days per week that is needed. There is no minimum number of days required but must be the same days each week.  Registration for this is done by semester, September through December and January through May.

Philosophy

We believe the most effective influence in a child's life can be realized when the church, home and school work together.
We believe that each has an immediate and direct influence on the developing child.

we pray

Picture
Fairlawn Lutheran School is an important ministry of the congregation in nurturing children in the Christian faith and reaching out to bring others to Christ. We also consider Fairlawn Lutheran Church & School to be an extension of the home and partner with the parents/guardians.

“She leads us in prayer at dinner with a prayer she learned at school.”

“I feel the respect and discipline children learn will set them far ahead of other children – the religious and educational head start is irreplaceable.”

we play

Picture
We believe that play is an important part of the early childhood experience.  Through play each child can use their creativity to explore their environment learning how to engage and interact with the world around them.

“You don’t find this everywhere – the children are learning academically and spiritually in the safest environment.”

“Teacher incorporates many ways to learn curriculum… if it can be done through art, music, cooking, centers, etc, she does it.”

we learn

Picture
We believe that every child can reach their full potential at their own individual pace, in a developmentally appropriate preschool and kindergarten program.  This is done by leading activities that encourage each child to grow spiritually, socially, cognitively, physically, and creatively. Each lead teacher has a degree in early childhood education or a related field and Fairlawn Lutheran School meets or exceeds the State Early Childhood Education requirements.

“She is well prepared for first grade, ahead in math and reading compared to our older child who attended public school for kindergarten.”

“My son was shy and nervous about his knowledge, now he is confident and willing to share what he knows.”

Parent Perspective:
"We loved that our son's teachers not only taught him his numbers, letters, etc., but they went above and beyond to reinforce good manners, how to apologize if you make a mistake, and genuine kindness to others. They also made each child feel special every day by stopping to look into their eyes and really listen to them.” - Dave & Jan

Parent perspective:
"I love the great combination of structured classroom and fun, inventive play. It was a great way for my son to learn that school is fun and to feel accomplished at it.” - Amanda
